30-Year T-Bond Futures Market News and Commentary

Stocks Retreat as Global Bond Yields Rise

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) is down by -0.42% today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) is down by -0.21%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is down by -1.17%.  E-mini S&P futures (ESU26) are down -0.51%, and September E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQU26) are down -1.31%.

Stock indices are retreating today, with the S&P 500 falling to a 1.5-week low and the Dow Jones Industrials falling to a 2-week low.  Soaring global bond yields are weighing on technology stocks today, dragging equity markets lower worldwide. Rising crude oil prices are fueling inflation concerns as hostilities in the Middle East show no signs of easing. WTI crude oil climbed to a 3-week high today, which pushed the 10-year Japan JGB bond yield up to a 3-year high of 2.967%, the 10-year German Bund yield up to a 15-year high of 3.262%, and the 10-year T-note yield up to a 1.5-year high of 4.75%.
