Oleksandr Pylypenko

Oleksandr Pylypenko

Oleksandr Pylypenko is an investment analyst and financial journalist with over seven years of experience. He authors the “Pre-Market Bulletin” newsletter at Barchart, equipping investors with everything they need to start the day with confidence — from global market coverage to key news driving U.S. futures and stocks making headlines before the open. He also has a strong focus on companies tied to the AI boom with the potential to deliver significant short- and long-term returns. In addition, he leverages his strong economic background and analytical skills to interpret complex corporate moves and explain what they mean for companies’ outlooks. Previously, Oleksandr was a contributing writer for Seeking Alpha, Market Realist, Wealthpop, and StockNews.

He also has a strong interest in quantitative trading and has developed two proprietary indicators to assess trend strength, momentum, volatility conditions, and asset valuation. After identifying high-quality companies through fundamental analysis, he applies these tools within his broader pullback-oriented strategy to spot emerging upward moves before they gain widespread attention. This approach has enabled him to generate double- and triple-digit short-term returns in companies such as ASML, Alphabet, and Nvidia, even in a market with elevated valuations.

Oleksandr is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics and previously earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree with Honors in Economics from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. During his studies, he received multiple academic distinctions, most notably winning first place in a national student research paper competition with his work titled “The Empirical Evaluation of Both the Internal and the International Fisher Effects for the Economy of Ukraine.”
