Custom Views is a feature unique to your Barchart.com Membership. Custom Views can be created using any of over 200 different data points. You can then apply any view to any data table on the website.
For example, the New Highs/Lows page is initially presented using a "Main" quoteboard view, showing the Symbol, Name, Last Price, Change, Percent Change, High, Low, Volume, and Time of Last Trade. You can create a Custom View that combines Price, Technical and Fundamental data points, and use that view on not only the New Highs/Lows page, but any other page on the site that presents a quoteboard.
A free site membership allows you to create up to 5 Custom Views, while Barchart Premier Members may create unlimited Custom Views.
Symbol is required on a custom view as the first column. You may then add a maximum of 14 additional fields to the view.
The Custom Views page shows all of the custom views you've created. Use this page to:
- Edit a Custom View: Click the View name (which is a link). We'll take you to the Edit View page where you can add, delete, or reorder columns to display in your view.
- Delete a View: Click the red icon (first column, far left). You will be asked to confirm your action.Â
- Reorder your Views: The far right side of the table contains a "Move" icon. To change the position of a View on the page (which also changes the position of the Custom Views list when you search for a view on a data table page), use your mouse to drag and drop the entire row to a new position.Â
- Set a view as your Default View: When checked, this custom view will be used on every data table you view on the site, whether a Stocks page (like Volume Leaders), or a Futures page (like Major Commodities). Setting a view as your Default View also updates your Site Preferences.
Note: Watchlists and Portfolios have their own Default Views which will always override the default set here. Edit your Watchlist or Portfolio to set or change their individual views.
