Soybean Futures Market News and Commentary

Soybeans Facing Modest Pressure on Friday Morning

Soybeans are trading with Friday morning losses of 3 to 4 cents. Futures closed the Thursday session mixed, with contracts down 1 ½ to 2 ½ cents lower across the board. Open interest slipped 4,638 contracts on Thursday. September options expire today. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 3/4 cents at $11.99 3/4. Soymeal futures were back down 70 cents to $3.20, as Soy Oil posted 48 to 141 point gains.

USDA reported a total of 150,000 MT of 2026/27 soybeans to unknown destinations on Thursday morning.

The ProFarmer Crop Tour showed Iowa soybean pot counts in a 3’ by 3’ area averaging 1,362.93 pods, down 1.55% from the last year but 5.19% above the 3 year average. Pod counts in Minnesota was pegged at 1257.8, up 0.89% from a year ago and 15.4% above the three year average.
