Stocks Supported as Fed Rate Hike Fears Ease

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is up +0.61%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) is up +0.25%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is up +1.00%. September E-mini S&P futures (ESU26) are up +0.66%, and September E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQU26) are up +1.14%.

Stock indices are moving higher today with some positive corporate earnings results. Stock indices added to their gains today as bond yields tumbled after US July nonfarm payrolls unexpectedly declined and average hourly earnings rose less than expected, bolstering speculation that the Fed won’t be forced to raise interest rates any time soon. The 10-year T-note yield is down -4 bp to 4.64%.

Atlassian is up more than +34% to lead software stocks higher today after forecasting stronger-than-expected Q1 revenue.
