Wheat Futures Market News and Commentary

Red Close for Tuesday Wheat Markets

Front month wheat futures extended the decline on Tuesday with some double digit losses. CBT SRW was down the most on Tuesday with 1% to 1.5% losses of as much as 10 1/2 cents. KC gave back another 1% to 1.3% on the day. MGE wheat prices pulled back another 4 1/4 to 6 1/4 cents as well on Tuesday.  

  

Japan is looking for 113,067 MT of wheat in their regular weekly tender. Of that, 55,481 MT is U.S. specific, with the remainder from Canada.  

  

Russia’s SovEcon boosted their 2021/22 wheat crop forecast by 200k MT to 75.6 MMT – citing better than expected yields in Siberia. IKAR was between 74-75 MMT, with USDA at 72.5 MMT.  

  

Dec 21 CBOT Wheat  closed at $6.90 1/4, down 10 1/2 cents, 

Cash SRW Wheat  was $6.34, down 10 3/8 cents, 

Dec 21 KCBT Wheat  closed at $6.90 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents, 

Cash HRW Wheat  was $6.64 3/7, down 9 1/2 cents, 

Dec 21 MGEX Wheat  closed at $8.87 3/4, down 6 1/4 cents,
