Nat-Gas Prices Post Slight Gains on Pre-Weekend Short Covering

April Nymex natural gas (NGJ25) on Friday closed up +0.005 (+0.13%).

April nat-gas prices Friday recovered from a 2-1/2 week low and posted slight gains on some pre-weekend short covering.  Nat-gas prices Friday initially extended Thursday's losses on forecasts for above-normal weather in the US into early next month, which will reduce heating demand for nat-gas.  On Friday, commercial forecaster Maxar Technologies said forecasts shifted warmer from the Midwest to the East for March 26-30, with nearly the entire US expected to have above-normal temperatures into early next month.

Last Monday, nat-gas rallied to a 2-year high on signs that US nat-gas storage levels could remain tight ahead of the summer air-conditioning season.  BloombergNEF projects that US gas storage will be 10% below the five-year average this summer.
