Soybean futures closed higher for the fourth consecutive day, up 4 3/4 to 5 3/4. Most bean contracts were negative overnight, but some contracts were showing gains of as much as a dime during the session. March soy meal finished $2.30 higher, and is up $18.60 so far this week. The National average price reported by yesterday DTN for soybeans is 9.94 3/4, a 6 month high. CNGOIC said Chinese soy imports were up about 3% year/year. Weekly US export data will be published by the USDA on Friday morning; a day later due to the shorter week. Year to date US soybean export commitments as a % of total projected exports are 87%, vs. 77% by the same time last year and the 5yr average of 82%. Mar 17 Soybeans settled at $10.75, up 5 3/4 cents, May 17 Soybeans settled at $10.83 3/4, up 5 3/4 cents, Jul 17 Soybeans settled at $10.88, up 4 3/4 cents, Aug 17 Soybeans settled at $10.80 3/4, up 5 cents, Mar 17 Soybean Meal settled at $351.10, up $2.30, Mar 17 Soybean Oil settled at $35.58, up $0.02
