Soybean futures are currently trading 1 to 4 cents higher after double digit losses on Thursday. A huge rally in the dollar was a negative. Weekly USDA export data was bull friendly on paper. Old crop soybean sales were up more than 10% week/week. Accumulated US soybean exports as a % of the USDA projection for the year are 47% vs. the 5yr avg for this date of only 40%. The trade is on average expecting the US soybean ending stocks to be a about 10 million bushels tighter than last month. Opinions differ as to whether that will be due to crush or exports. If both, the stocks number will likely be lower than the average guess. CONAB tightened their official estimate for Brazilian soybean production to 102.45 MMT yesterday.
