Corn Mini Futures Market News and Commentary

Corn Rallying to Start the Last Trade Day of the Week

Corn price action is up 4 to 5 cents so far on Thursday morning. Futures closed 5-6 cents off the early session lows on Wednesday, as contracts still settled 2 ¾ to 3 ½ cents lower, with some deferred higher. Some money was coming off the table as open interest suggested long liquidation, down 13,830 contracts. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price was up 3/4 cent at $4.15 3/4.  Crude Oil shot $9.50 higher in overnight trade, following President Trump’s address the nation on Wednesday that indicated 2-3 weeks more of strikes and an uncertain fate to the Strait of Hormuz. Thursday will be the last trade day for the week as the markets are off for Good Friday.

EIA data from Wednesday morning showed ethanol at a total of 1.075 million barrels per day in the week ending on 3/27. That was a 41,000 bpd drop on the week.
