10-year T-notes Settle Higher After Stocks Fall Back from Record Highs

Dec T-notes (ZNZ19) on Tuesday closed up +4.5 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield fell -2.8 bp to 1.914%.

Dec T-note prices recovered from early losses and settled higher after stocks gave up an early rally and after German bunds gained on dovish comments from ECB Vice President Guindos.

T-notes found support on a rally in German 10-year bunds on Tuesday's comments from ECB Vice President Guindos who said a recession in the Eurozone is unlikely, but that a long low-growth phase is a threat. Guindos' comments suggest he is in favor of keeping the ECB's ultra-easy monetary policies in place.

T-notes early Tuesday opened lower on an early rally in global stocks. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose +0.42% to a 4-1/4 year high and U.S. stock indexes climbed to new record highs early Tuesday, which reduced the safe-haven demand for T-notes.
