Soybean futures settled from 6 to 11 cents higher. Jan 17 soybeans closed the highest since early December, as they expired today. March 17 beans ended the week 51.5 cents higher. January meal futures were up $8.30 on the session and 7.26% on the week, while January bean oil lost 48 points and gained only 62 points since last Friday. With the NOPA report coming in less than a week, early expectations are predicting Tuesday’s report will show 162.8 mbu of soybeans were crushed during December. The USDA reported a private sale of 132,000 MT of soybeans for 16/17 to an unknown destination under the daily reporting system. CFTC report data showed managed money increasing their net long position by 1,643 in soybean futures and options, after five straight weeks of decreases. Jan 17 Soybeans settled at $10.42 1/2, up 10 1/2 cents, Mar 17 Soybeans settled at $10.46 1/4, up 6 cents, May 17 Soybeans settled at $10.55 1/2, up 6 1/2 cents, Jul 17 Soybeans settled at $10.61 1/2, up 6 1/4 cents, Jan 17 Soybean Meal settled at $332.50, up $8.30, Jan 17 Soybean Oil settled at $35.37, down $0.48
