Soybean futures were mostly about 6 cents lower on Tuesday. March 17 soy meal futures lost $2.20, and March 17 bean oil lost 22 points. Soybean export inspections for the week of 2/16 were 39.55 million bushels (mbu), which was 6.4% lower than last week, and 43.5% below the same week last year. As of the week ending 2/16, total inspections for this year are 193.19 mbu larger than at the same point last year. SAFRAS estimates that 24.8% of Brazilian soybeans have been harvested as of February 17, ahead of the annual average of 17.1%. They also estimate Mato Grosso at 52% complete, but only 18% in Parana. According to the CFTC, as of last Tuesday, managed money accounts had their net long back to within 3.25% of what it was at their recent high reported on 1/24. Of course they will publish positions as of the 2/21 close this Friday afternoon. Mar 17 Soybeans settled at $10.26 1/4, down 6 1/4 cents, May 17 Soybeans settled at $10.37 1/4, down 6 cents, Jul 17 Soybeans settled at $10.46 1/4, down 6 cents, Aug 17 Soybeans settled at $10.45 1/4, down 6 1/4 cents, Mar 17 Soybean Meal settled at $337.40, down $2.20, Mar 17 Soybean Oil settled at $32.67, down $0.22
