Afternoon action in the corn market left the futures board mixed for the close. May futures ended the day 2 1/4 cents in the black, after rallying back form 22 cent losses earlier in the day. Both July and Sept also closed off their lows, but were still 1 1/4 cents in the red at the bell. Dec gained a net penny on the day.Â
After an announcement from President Biden showed the U.S. is banning gas and oil from Russia, Putin responded by suspending all exports to non Russian Federation nations. Separately, Ukraine announced intentions to issue export certificates for private firms in the battle torn Ukraine.Â
Official January Census export data was delayed today due to technical issues.Â

May 22 Corn  closed at $7.53, up 2 1/4 cents,
Dec 22 Corn  closed at $6.43 3/4, up 1 cent,
New Crop Cash  was $6.34 1/2, down 1 cent,
