Virtuix Inc. (VTIX), a leading manufacturer of full-body virtual reality systems for consumer, enterprise, and defense markets, announced on March 30, 2026, that it has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (“CRADA”) with the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
The announcement is the latest in a rapid sequence of strategic milestones since the company's Nasdaq debut in January, following a Meta collaboration, a European consumer launch, and sales to multiple U.S. military installations. This agreement marks Virtuix's first formal collaboration with the U.S. Navy and signals that its defense strategy is gaining rapid traction and adoption as Virtuix pursues military contracts.
Under the agreement, Virtuix will deliver an Omni One system to NPS's Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulation Institute, where researchers will evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of small-footprint, 360-degree navigation technology for military training and simulation tasks.

Virtual Terrain Walk Lets Warfighters Walk the Battlefield Before They Fight on It
Virtuix’s “Virtual Terrain Walk” system, or VTW, is the defense-specific application at the center of this agreement. The system uses AI-driven 3D reconstruction to transform real-world environments, captured with 360-degree cameras in roughly two hours from drone scan to navigable terrain, into high-fidelity virtual worlds that users can physically walk, run, and crouch through in any direction.
The military application is direct. Soldiers can familiarize themselves with geo-specific terrain before engaging it, or train inside restricted-access environments like submarines and ships that cannot otherwise be replicated. Distributed teams located across the country can meet inside the same virtual environment for mission planning and rehearsal, and planning data can be exported directly into common operating systems.
Virtuix has published a demonstration video showing the full process in action, from the drone scan through the completed walkable environment, with commentary from military personnel who have used the system in the field.
"We believe the agreement highlights the broader potential and adoption of our technology in defense," Goetgeluk said. "The insights from this collaboration will advance the development of Virtual Terrain Walk as we continue expanding our presence in the defense market."
Navy Agreement Deepens Virtuix's Growing Military Collaboration and Application
The NPS agreement builds on a defense portfolio that has grown steadily since Virtuix listed on Nasdaq in January 2026. The company has sold test units to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy, Yokota Air Force Base, and U.S. Marine Corps. It also completed a humanoid robot teleoperation demonstration in collaboration with the University of Central Florida's Institute for Simulation and Training.
Virtuix's defense expansion continues to run in parallel with its consumer momentum as the company recently launched Omni One Core across Europe and joined Meta's "Made for Meta" program, unlocking access to the world's largest installed base of VR headsets.
The Growing Bull Case for VTIX
- Fourth military branch in under 60 days. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and now Navy. The pace of defense engagement since the Nasdaq debut suggests institutional interest, not isolated purchases.

While defense contracts at scale remain to be secured and consumer adoption at volume is still developing, the combination of a formal Navy engagement, growing Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force traction, and a consumer business expanding into Europe and the Meta ecosystem gives VTIX a multi-front growth story heading into the second half of fiscal 2026.
