66.90, +1.23

Soybeans
July ‘26
1189 ¾, +18 ¼
14-day high: 1250 ¾
14-day low: 1159 ¾
The grain markets have been trading a lot on headlines recently. That was true again today, with soybeans rallying at midday after it was reported that President Trump plans to visit China on May 14-15. There was already a 4-million-acre shift from corn and cotton to soybeans expected. High fertilizer prices could increase the rotation to soybeans even further. The acreage report will be released on Tuesday, March 31, along with the Grain Stocks report. Brazil’s soybean harvest is near 65% complete and cheaper than US soybeans. July soybeans closed below the 14 and 21-day moving average. Support is at the 50-day moving average.

Live Cattle
June ‘26
233.77 ½, -0.82 ½
14-day high: 236.47 ½
14-day low: 224.22 ½
Live Cattle bounced off the 100-day moving average on March 9 and is now building a positive short-term trend. Crude oil was lower this morning and stocks indexes were higher because of peace talks, even though Iran reportedly rejected the US proposal to end the war. A rally in the equity markets should be bullish for cattle. The market has shaken off Friday’s somewhat bearish Cattle on Feed report. While, the impact of the JBS strike in Colorado seems to have been most of the way priced in, in anticipation of the strike.
