TORONTO - Hudbay Minerals Inc. reported a fourth-quarter profit attributable to owners of US$128.0 million, up from US$21.2 million a year ago as its revenue rose 25 per cent.
The miner, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, says the profit amounted to 32 cents US per diluted share for the quarter ended Dec. 31, up from five cents US per diluted share a year earlier.
Revenue totalled US$732.9 million for the quarter, up from US$584.9 million in the last three months of 2024.
On an adjusted basis, Hudbay says it earned 22 cents US per share in its latest quarter, up from an adjusted profit of 18 cents US per share a year earlier.
The company has operations in Canada, Peru and the United States.
Hudbay chief executive Peter Kukielski says the quarter saw standout performance in Peru driven by high-grade Pampacancha ore, record throughput at its New Britannia mill in Manitoba and the successful completion of the SAG mill feed system in British Columbia.Â
