
Tuesday hog futures closed with $0.45 to $1.12 gains through the front months. The USDA National Average Base Hog Price for Tuesday was $1.46 stronger to $85.54. The CME Lean Hog Index was $88.65 on 11/11, down by 2 cents.
Pork cutout futures ended the day with $0.22 to $1.20 gains on Tuesday. USDA’s afternoon Pork Carcass Cutout Value was 86 cents weaker to $95.70. USDA estimated FI hog slaughter for Tuesday at 490k head, for a weekly total 975k head. That compares to 985k head last week and 966k head during the same week last year.
