The Symbol Historical Data page, found in the symbol's navigational menu, allows Barchart Premier Members to download Intraday, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly data. Historical downloads count towards your daily download limit. A maximum of 20,000 records can be downloaded with any single request.
- Intraday data is available, down to 1-minute increments, approximately 10 years prior to today's date. (Note: Intraday downloaded data will only include trades which qualify as a "new last price." This excludes block trades, and other trade types which can make up the daily volume of a security.)
- Daily data is available back to 01/01/2000.
- Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly data is available back to 01/01/1980 (depending on the symbol).
When selecting Intraday data for a U.S. equity symbol, you may also request Extended Hours trades (pre- and post-market trading). When selecting Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly data for a U.S. equity symbol, you may also choose Dividend Adjusted prices. Dividend adjusted prices are calculated using the standard formula [price] x [factor], where factor is [1 - ([div] / [close])]
Historical minute and daily data for stocks is automatically adjusted for splits.
When selecting data for a futures contract, you may also request to download Total Volume and Open Interest by marking the checkbox. When not checked, the download will show the contract Volume and Open Interest. When selecting "Nearby" data, you may also choose to back adjust history.
- Enter the symbol you wish to download. To request data for an expired futures contract, enter the 2-character commodity root (ZC, GC, etc.) followed by the 1-character month code, followed by a 2-digit year. Example: ZCZ05 for Corn December 2005.
- Choose the frequency - Intraday, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly. Futures data is available by contract, or choose "Nearby" data for continuous historical data built off expired contracts.
- Identify the date range, and for U.S. equities, whether you want the prices to be Dividend Adjusted.
- You may also select Ascending or Descending Data order.
- Click the Download button.
Note: The .csv file that is downloaded uses yyyy/mm/dd as the date format. Futures, Forex and Crypto symbols show intraday timestamps in C.T. (Chicago central time). Otherwise, the intraday timestamps for equities will use the exchange time.
