Cotton futures closed the midweek session with losses of 130 to 399. Outside pressure was a factor. The markets in general were in risk off mode, with stocks sharply lower. Crude oil was down $3.17, with the dollar up 528 points.
The 7-day QPF shows much of TX and the delta with rains expected over the next week.
The Cotlook A index was 550 points higher on 5/17 at 169.45. USDA’s updated AWP for cotton was 140.82 cents/lb on Thursday, down by 628 points from last week. It is in effect through Thursday.
