Cotton prices continue to set new contract highs, and new highs for the front month continuation, going home with 179 to 381 point gains today. New crop futures were also higher, adding 111 to 114 points to the upside. December settled above the once mythical “dollar cotton” mark.
The Seam reported 41,009 bales were sold for an average price of 116.35 cents on Friday. The Cotlook A index was 60 points weaker on 1/28 to 135.85 cents/lb. The AWP for cotton is 112.43 cents/lb for the week through Thursday.
