TORONTO - Barrick Mining Corp. says it's exploring a potential initial public offering of a subsidiary that would hold its North American gold assets.
The company says the new firm would be anchored by its joint venture interests in Nevada Gold Mines and Pueblo Viejo, as well as its wholly owned Fourmile gold discovery in Nevada.
Barrick says the new company would be listed through an initial public offering of a small minority interest.
It says it would retain a significant controlling majority interest in the company.
Barrick's board has authorized management to explore the idea through early next year and plans to update the market on its progress when it reports its full-year results in February.
Barrick interim-CEO Mark Hill says the company's gold operations in Nevada and the Dominican Republic are among the best in the world, while the Fourmile project in Nevada is one of the century’s most significant gold discoveries.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 1, 2025.
