On a per-share basis, the Troy, Michigan-based company said it had a loss of $4.26. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 18 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share.
The staffing company posted revenue of $935 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $972.8 million.
