Live cattle futures are triple digits lower at midday with losses of as much as $2.25. Feeders are also down by as much as 1.1% so far with $1.87 to $2.70 losses. Cash cattle sales remain unestablished for the week through Wednesday.Â
Weekly beef export bookings were shown at 11.2k MT for the week that ended 3/7. That was down from 14k MT last week and was a new low for the year. The week’s shipment came in at 16k MT for an accumulated export of 149k MT. That remains 8.5% ahead of last year’s pace.Â
USDA’s AM Boxed Beef prices were higher with Choice up by $1.05 and Select up by 40 cents.  Federally inspected cattle slaughter for the week through Wednesday was listed at 351,000 head. That is 11k head behind last week’s pace and is down 23k head compared to the same week last year.Â
