So far for Thursday, cotton is down by another 1% across the front months. The old crop July contract is giving back 112 points, with Dec down by 97 as the weather maps have major systems in the South East.
USDA’s weekly Export Sales report showed 98,915 RBs of cotton was booked during the week that ended 6/8. That was a 9-wk low, though China booked 70.5k RBs. The week’s exports were 245k RBs for a season’s total of 10.25 million. Total commitments were 13.61 million RBs through 6/8. USD also reported 66k RBs sold for 23/24 delivery, leaving the total at 1.78m.
The Cotlook A Index for 6/14 was up by 50 points to 92.75 cents/lb. The AWP for cotton is 69.38 cents, through Thursday. ICE Certified stocks for 6/13 were 17,918 bales.
