
Lean hog futures are up 50 cents to $1.10 across most contracts on Tuesday. The USDA National Average Base Hog price was $1.34 higher in the Tuesday AM report to $72.23. The CME Lean Hog Index was $74.42 on 5/5 after an 11 cent drop.
Pork cutout futures are up $1.25. USDA’s National Pork Carcass Cutout Value was 36 cents lower at $81.58 on Tuesday morning. USDA estimated FI hog slaughter at 468,000 head for Monday. That is up from 449k last week and from 459k during the same Monday last year.
May 23 Hogs are at $76.125, up $0.500,
Jun 23 Hogs are at $84.400, up $1.100
May 23 Pork Cutout is at $82.450, up $1.250,
