
The lean hog futures market is giving back $0.67 to $1.22 at midday. The National Average Base Hog price was 58 cents lower on Tuesday morning to $75.45. for Monday was 74 cents weaker to $75.84. The CME Lean Hog Index was down by 42 cents to $76.57 on 3/24.
Pork cutout futures are also down by $0.77 to $1.15 so far. USDA’s Pork Carcass Cutout value was 12 cents weaker on Tuesday morning to $81.10. USDA estimated Monday’s FI hog slaughter at 486,000 head from 459k last week and 478k during the same week last year.
April 23 Hogs are at $77.650, down $0.975,
May 23 Hogs are at $85.250, down $1.475
April 23 Pork Cutout is at $83.100, down $1.100,
