At the close Wednesday, April and August were UNCH, with 7 to 12 cent losses in Feb and Jun respectively. The Dec contract was up 37 cents to stay firm with cash during the delivery process. USDA confirmed $156 trade in NE on Wednesday, with limited $153 trade in the South. The FCE auction had 8 lots offered, with 2 in CO and 6 in TX. None sold, with bids $153-$153.5 and asks at $155 or higher. Feeder cattle closed the midweek session with 72 to 90 cent losses in the front months. The CME Feeder Cattle Index was 49 cents stronger to $179.02.  Â
Wholesale Boxed Beef prices were $8.38 higher in Choice this morning and $2.22 higher for Select product. USDA estimated the week’s FI cattle slaughter through Wednesday at 382k head. That compares to 384k head last week and 365k head during the same week last year. Â
