Wharf holdings is engaged in property and infrastructure investment in Hong Kong and Mainland. The Company's property portfolio comprises office, retail, serviced apartment and Hotel and clubs. With prime real estate as the Group's primary strategic focus, site acquisition, financing, development planning, design, construction and marketing are its core competencies. Mall development and retail management remain its strategic differentiation. The Company's segments are investment property ("IP"), development property ("DP"), hotels, logistics and communications, media and entertainment ("CME"). Investment property segment primarily includes property leasing operations. Currently, the Company's properties portfolio, which mainly consists of retail, office and serviced apartments is primarily located in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Development property segment encompasses activities relating to the acquisition, development, design, construction, sale and marketing of the Group's trading properties primarily in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Hotels segment includes hotel operations in the Asia Pacific region. Currently, the Group owns and manages 13 Marco Polo Hotels. Logistics segment mainly includes the container terminal operations in Hong Kong and Mainland China undertaken by Modern Terminals Limited ("Modern Terminals"), Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited ("Hactl") and other public transport operations. CME segment comprises pay television, internet and multimedia and other businesses operated by i-CABLE Communications Limited ("i-CABLE") and the telecommunication businesses operated by Wharf T&T Limited.
