Software AG was established in 1969. The Company is engaged in the process and integration of software and guides its customers in their transformation to a digital enterprise. Its big data, integration and business process technologies enable customers to drive operational efficiency, modernize their systems and optimize processes for decision making. The Company's business activities are divided into three reportable lines: business process management or Business Process Excellence, data management or Enterprise Transaction Systems and Consulting. The Business Process Excellence or BPE segment consists of software products for completely integrated solutions in the field of Business Process Management for organizations of all industries and sizes. These products and services enable automated analysis, development, control and optimization of data. The Company's offering covers the entire value-creation chain: from analysis, consulting and planning to development, implementation and even monitoring of processes across the entire organization. The Enterprise Transaction Systems, ETS segment has offered database solutions for mainframes and the development and modernization of mainframe-based IT systems. With this segment the Company provides its customers a long-term investment protection. The Consulting segment was realigned in the year under review, and, since the beginning of 2013 it encompassed all consulting and services pertaining to the BPE, ETS and IDS Scheer Consulting, IDSC business lines. Further, the Company is focusing on SAP consulting solutions. Software AG serves customers in more than 70 locations. The Company generates license and maintenance revenue from products in the BPE and ETS segments. The Company's products include ARIS, ALFABET, WEBMETHODS APAMA, TERRACOTTA, ADABAS-NATURAL Application, ADABAS Database Management System, among others. The Company's customers include, Coca-Cola Refreshments, African Bank, CosmosDirekt Insurance Group, DB Netz AG, among other.
