PacifiCorp was incorporated in the state of Maine, United States of America under the name Pacific Power & Light Company on June 16, 1910. In 1984, Pacific Power & Light Company changed its name to PacifiCorp. It is a United States regulated, vertically integrated electric utility company engaged in serving retail customers, including residential, commercial, industrial, irrigation and other customers in portions of the states of Utah, Oregon, Wyoming, Washington, Idaho and California. The Company owns, or has interests in, a number of thermal, hydroelectric, wind-powered and geothermal generating facilities, as well as electric transmission and distribution assets. It also buys and sells electricity on the wholesale market with other utilities, energy marketing companies, financial institutions and other market participants. The Company's subsidiaries support its electric utility operations by providing coal mining services. The Company is subject to comprehensive state and federal regulation.
