On June 17, 1998, the Company amended its articles of incorporation to change its name from Sextant Enterprise Corp. to Pure Technologies Ltd. The Company is engaged in development and application of technologies for inspection, monitoring and management of physical infrastructure. It provides infrastructure management solutions to customers in the water and wastewater industry, oil and gas pipeline industry and the bridges and post-tensioned buildings sectors. The Company markets and sells its products and services directly in the North American market through its U.S. subsidiaries and overseas through its branch offices in Benghazi, Libya, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Sydney, Australia, the United Kingdom, as well as its joint venture in Hong Kong.Its business streams, corresponding technologies and services are Proprietary monitoring equipment for pipelines, bridges and structures; Technical services utilizing proprietary inspection, leak detection and condition assessment technologies. SoundPrint technology is a patented acoustic monitoring system used to provide continuous remote health monitoring of water and wastewater pipelines, bridges, buildings, parking structures and other infrastructure components. PureEM is Company's patented, electromagnetic technology which provides a snapshot of the condition of large-diameter water and wastewater transmission pipelines. The Company has competitors with different, but competing applications to SoundPrint technology that have greater financial, marketing, technological and manufacturing resources than does by the Company. The Company is subject to federal, provincial, state, municipal and local statutes, regulations and bylaws and other requirements with respect to workers' health and safety and environmental matters in Canada, the United States, Libya, the United Kingdom and elsewhere.
