The Company's impact-resistant products, most of which are marketed under the WinGuard brand name, combine heavy-duty aluminum or vinyl frames with laminated glass to provide protection from hurricane-force winds and wind-borne debris by maintaining their structural integrity and preventing penetration by impacting objects. It manufactures complete lines of premium, fully customizable aluminum and vinyl windows and doors and porch enclosure products targeting both the residential new construction and repair and remodeling end markets. WinGuard is its impact-resistant product line and combines heavy-duty aluminum or vinyl frames with laminated glass to provide protection from hurricane-force winds and wind-borne debris that satisfy increasingly stringent building codes and mainly target hurricane-prone coastal states in the U.S., as well as the Caribbean and Central America. The Company offers a complete line of fully customizable, non-impact-resistant aluminum frame windows and doors. These products mainly target regions with warmer climates, where aluminum is often preferred due to its ability to withstand higher temperatures and humidity. Additionally, the Company offers a complete line of fully customizable, non-impact-resistant vinyl frame windows and doors mainly targeting regions with colder climates, where the energy-efficient characteristics of vinyl frames are critical. In early 2009, the Company introduced SpectraGuard, a line of vinyl replacement windows combining energy performance and protection with wood-like detail. Similar to WinGuard, Architectural Systems products are impact-resistant, offering protection from hurricane-force winds and wind-borne debris for mid- and high-rise buildings rather than single family homes.
