Minden Bancorp., Inc. is a unitary savings and loan holding Company whose assets consist primarily of the ownership of the outstanding capital stock of the Association, investments of proceeds retained from the reorganization and the Company's loan to the employee stock ownership plan. The Association is a Louisiana-chartered savings and loan association that was originally organized in 1910. The Association's business consists primarily of attracting deposits from the general public and using those funds to make loans. As of December 31, 2003, the Association had no subsidiaries. As of December 31, 2003, the net loan portfolio of the Association totaled $58.1 million.
