MBAC Fertilizer Corp. formerly known as Option-NFA Inc., was incorporated under the Business Corporations Act (Alberta) on July 9, 1999. The Company presently operates the Itafós Campos Belos RNP Operations, which comprises mining and processing of phosphate rock which is sold to local farmers for direct application. The Itafós Arraias SSP Project is under construction and initial SSP production is expected to commence following completion of construction in Q4 2012. The Company is also engaged in exploration and evaluation efforts aimed at increasing the mine life, and, if sufficient and adequate mineral resources are confirmed, potentially doubling the expected production capacity of the Itafós Arraias SSP Project through Itafós - Phase II. The Company continues to explore various other assets and phosphate and potash opportunities throughout Brazil, including the development of the Santana Project in Pará State, Brazil, for which the Company has released the Santana PEA, supporting the installation of facilities estimated to produce 500,000 tonnes of SSP per annum. In addition, the Company is engaged in exploration and evaluation efforts aimed at increasing the mine life, and, if sufficient and adequate mineral resources are confirmed, potentially doubling the expected production capacity at the Itafós Arraias SSP Project. The Company continues to explore various other assets and phosphate and potash opportunities throughout Brazil, including the development of the Santana phosphate project in Pará State, Brazil, and the Araxa rare earth oxide-phosphate-niobium project in Minas Gerais State, Brazil. SSP is a phosphate-based fertilizer produced by mixing phosphate concentrate with sulphuric acid. The Company plans to construct both a sulphuric acid plant with a capacity of approximately six tonnes per day and an SSP plant with a capacity of approximately 500,000 tonnes per annum. The Company's operations are mainly located in Brazil and are subject to various laws and regulations concerning the environment.
