Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV was incorporated on May 30, 1936. The Company is a beverage company. It conducts its operations through holding companies such as Coca-Cola FEMSA, which engages in the production, distribution and marketing of soft drinks; FEMSA Comercio, which operates small-format store and CB Equity which holds its investment in Heineken. Coca-Cola FEMSA is the bottler of Coca-Cola trademark beverages. It operates in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina. The Company's segments include residential neighborhoods, commercial and office locations and stores near schools and universities, along with other types of specialized locations. It also competes in beverage categories other than sparkling beverages, such as water, juice-based beverages, teas, sport drinks and value-added dairy products. The Company is subject to federal and state laws and regulations relating to the protection of the environment, in all its territories.
