ENEL Ente Nazionale per L'Energ Elet SPA is an electricity operator in Italy. It produces, distributes, and sells electricity and natural gas across Europe, Russia, North America & Latin America. The company operates approximately 24 GW of installed capacity in Spain and Portugal. In Central and Eastern Europe it has a generation capacity of around 5 GW. In Latin America the Company operates 17 GW of installed capacity from thermal, hydro and other renewable power plants. In the generation sector the Company's subsidiary Endesa owns and operates 4.4 GW in Argentina, 1 GW in Brazil, 5.5 GW in Chile, 2.9 GW in Colombia and 1.8 GW in Peru. Chile and Brazil, along with Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico host 1.2 GW of wind and hydroelectric plants operated by EGP Latin America. In North America Enel Green Power owns and operates more than 1.6 GW of hydroelectric, geothermal, wind, solar and biomass power plants.
