The Company through its subsidiaries provides building construction, commercial electrical and data systems contracting, industrial insulation contracting, industrial electrical and instrumentation contracting, civil construction and related services within Canada. Its segment includes General Contracting, Industrial Services and Commercial Systems. General Contracting consists of Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd. (SODCL). SODCL constructs commercial, institutional light-industrial and multi-unit residential buildings and is a general contractor in Western Canada's building markets. Industrial Services consists of Churchill Services Group (CSG) and Broda. CSG has three divisions: Laird Electric Inc., Laird Constructors Inc. (collectively, Laird), and Specialty Services. Laird Electric provides electrical, instrumentation and power-line construction and maintenance services to resource and industrial clients, primarily in the oil and gas industry in the Fort McMurray and greater Edmonton regions. Laird Constructors is a multi-trade contractor providing electrical, instrumentation, power-line, mechanical and structural construction and maintenance services to resource and industrial clients, primarily in the mining and power generation industries in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Specialty Services consists of Fuller Austin Inc. and Northern Industrial Insulation Contractors Inc. It serves industrial clients with insulation, asbestos abatement, siding application, heating, ventilation and air conditioning and plant maintenance services. Its clients are in the oil sands, oil and natural gas, petrochemical, forest products, power utilities and mining industries. Commercial Systems consists of Canem and McCaine. Canem, with its head office located in Richmond, B.C., designs, builds, maintains and services electrical and data communication systems for institutional, commercial, light industrial and multi-family residential customers.
