CNOOC Ltd CNOOC Ltd was incorporated in Hong Kong on August 20, 1999. The Company and its subsidiaries are engaged in the exploration, development, production and sale of crude oil, natural gas and other petroleum products. The Group is engaged in the upstream operating activities of the conventional oil and gas, shale oil and gas, oil sands and other unconventional oil and gas business. The Company reports the business through three reporting segments: exploration and production ("E&P"), trading business and corporate. In offshore China, the Company engages in oil and natural gas exploration, development and production in Bohai, Western South China Sea, Eastern South China Sea and East China Sea. The Company holds interests in oil and natural gas blocks in Indonesia, Australia, Nigeria, Uganda, Argentina, the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil and various other countries. The Company's oil and gas resources in Oceania are located in Australia and Papua New Guinea. It also owns interests in several production and exploration blocks in Yemen, Myanmar and Qatar. The Company sells its crude oil produced in offshore China to the PRC market mainly through CNOOC China Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary. The Company sells its crude oil overseas to international and domestic markets through China Offshore Oil (Singapore) International Pte Ltd, also its wholly owned subsidiary.
