Candente Copper Corp formerly known as Candente Resource Corp was incorporated under the laws of British Columbia on May 1, 1997. The Company is a mineral exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. The Company is focused on the exploration and development of its Canariaco Norte copper project, the Canariaco Sur deposit, Quebrada Verde and Jehuamarca prospects located within the western Cordillera of the Peruvian Andes in the Canaris District, Province of Ferrenafe, Department of Lambayeque in Northern Peru. The Canariaco Project consists of 21 Canariaco concessions, covering a total area of 15,600 ha, and 4 Jehuamarca concessions covering a total area of 3,600 ha, for a total of 25 concessions covering 19,200 ha. The Company operates in two geographical areas; Peru and Canada. All phases of the Company's operations are subject to environmental regulation in the jurisdictions in which it operates. Any exploration, development or mining operations carried on by the Company are subject to government legislation, policies and controls relating to prospecting, development, production, environmental protection, mining taxes and labour standards.
