Bavarian Nordic ASÂ was established in 1994. The Company is a biotechnology company that specializes in the production of vaccines for the treatment of biodefense, cancer, and infectious diseases. Its business is divided into two segments: Cancer Immunotherapy and Infectious Diseases. In Cancer Immunotherapy, the Company is developing PROSTVAC AND CV-301 for the treatment of patients with asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. In Infectious Diseases, the U.S. Government awarded contracts for the development and supply of IMVAMUNE, including awards to advance MVA-BN. IMVANEX/IMVAMUNE treats patients with smallpox diseases. In the U.S., the Company develops IMVAMUNE as a non-replicating smallpox vaccine suitable for individuals who are not recommended to receive conventional replicating smallpox vaccines, such as patients with HIV, patients with AD and members of their household. The development is funded by the U.S. Government, through contracts with BARDA and NIH. The company operates in Denmark, Germany, the United States, and Singapore.
