Anglo American Platinum Ltd was incorporated on 13 July 1946. The Company is engaged in production of platinum & other platinum group metals through its wholly owned mining operations in bathopele, dishaba, khomanani, khuseleka, mogalakwena, siphumelele, thembelani and tumela mines. Its activities are mining, smelting, and refining platinum group metals. The Company's platinum group metals include palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium, nickel, copper, other base metals and gold. It develops the unki platinum mine in Zimbabwe. Its mining operations consist of managed mines, joint venture mines and associate mines across Southern Africa and these mines mine merensky, UG2 and platreef, which are further processed by concentrators, joint venture concentrators, associate concentrators, smelters and refineries. These operations treat concentrates, not only from the wholly owned operations, but also from joint ventures and third parties.
