Dashboard's Streaming Charts
One of Dashboard's unique features is that it provides you with a streaming Interactive chart experience. In addition, you can configure charts to receive free realtime data as well. So what, exactly, does this mean?
Streaming Data on the Chart
This is a demonstration of streaming prices on a chart. Depending on the timeframe you select, you may also see the chart draw new bars as the data comes in.
Important: The data that is streamed into the chart is always delayed for futures, forex, and non-US equities. But for certain US equities, you may configure your charts to stream free realtime data from the Cboe BZX Exchange. See below for more details.
The Cboe BZX Exchange (formerly BATS), an electronic exchange in Kansas City. Available only for US equities, the exchange offers free realtime data that Barchart uses during market hours (8:30A - 3:20P CT) to display on our equities data tables and in symbol price quotes. The volume data we get from Cboe BZX, however, is significantly less than the volume data one gets from NYSE and Nasdaq. (Realtime data from NYSE and Nasdaq exchanges require users to pay a monthly fee, and is only available through one of Barchart's realtime products, cmdtyView, Webstation or Trader.) Furthermore, some thinly-traded stocks are not found on the Cboe BZX exchange, and for other thinly-traded stocks, the price data may be different than that from NYSE and Nasdaq.
Streaming Data on the Quote
Dashboard shows you the most recent quote data available at the top of the chart. In the example below, you can see in the quote data above the chart that these are REALTIME prices from the Cboe BZX Exchange. The price for AMZN just went down (you can tell because the last price and price change are shaded in red). The data to the right in the green and red boxes are the most recent (bid price x bid size), and (ask price x ask size). New price data will stream into the quote.

When Dashboard's Controller is opened, you will also see the prices in the table update with the same streaming data. Notice the price on the chart is different in the example below. This is one indication that the chart is not streaming realtime Cboe BZX data. (You can also tell by looking at the symbol in the chart's watermark...AMZN.)

Streaming Cboe BZX Data on the Chart (US Equities Only)
For U.S. equities, you need to explicity tell the chart to return Cboe BZX data. This option is found in the chart Settings menu, in the Display tab. If using chart templates, this setting is also available in the Interactive Chart Template.
You can always tell whether the chart is using Cboe BZX data by looking at the symbol in the watermark. The symbol will contain the .BZ suffix as shown below (AMZN.BZ):

Aside from Dashboard, Barchart Premier Members also receive streaming Interactive charts on a symbol's chart page.
