The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.78 per share.
The sporting goods retailer posted revenue of $5.59 billion in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.64 billion.
Dick's expects full-year earnings in the range of $11 to $12 per share, with revenue in the range of $21.9 billion to $22.2 billion.
