TORONTO - Canada's main stock index was down more than 300 points in late-morning trading, weighed down by losses in the technology sector, while U.S. stock markets also fell. The S&P/TSX composite index was down 338.05 points at 32,838.02. In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 201.74 points at 48,813.86. The S&P 500 index was down 76.87 points at 6,901.16, while the Nasdaq composite was down 491.54 points at 23,365.91. The Canadian dollar traded for 73.89 cents US compared with 73.69 cents US on Wednesday. The March crude oil contract was up US$2.07 at US$65.28 per barrel.
