TORONTO - Canada's main stock index was down nearly 200 points in late-morning trading as shares in the technology sector tumbled, while U.S. stock markets also fell. The S&P/TSX composite index was down 185.19 points at 29,918.29. In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 447.30 points at 46,863.70. The S&P 500 index was down 69.45 points at 6,726.84, while the Nasdaq composite was down 395.00 points at 23,104.80. The Canadian dollar traded for 70.73 cents US compared with 70.82 cents US on Wednesday. The December crude oil contract was down 40 cents US at US$59.20 per barrel.
