MONTREAL - The public arrivals drop-off section of Montreal’s Trudeau airport is partially closed in the morning hours until Friday, but an airport spokesperson says it hasn’t created congestion.
The curbside section has been inaccessible between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. starting yesterday, with drivers being redirected to the departures or express drop-off areas instead.
The airport is dismantling its multi-level parking lot to build a new, larger curbside and parking facility.
Aéroports de Montréal spokesperson Eric Forrest said the work is being done during a slower travel period, adding that there is also less traffic in the morning.
Still, he warns those driving to the airport to plan ahead for possible delays.
The airport will undergo a $10-billion transformation over the next decade that will include a complete reconfiguration of its road network to reduce traffic.
