
Lean hog prices are trading triple digits lower with losses of $1.05 to $1.35, taking the week’s move back to the red. USDA’s National Average Base Hog price for Tuesday morning was $1.64 weaker to $72.23. The 1/06 CME Lean Hog Index was down by 70 cents to $76.79.
Pork cutout futures are also down by triple digits. Tuesday’s AM National Pork Carcass Cutout value was 93 cents higher to $83.28. USDA estimated Monday’s FI hog slaughter at 491,000 head.
