TORONTO - Corus Entertainment Inc. reported a loss attributable to shareholders of $6.1 million in its latest quarter as its revenue fell 15 per cent compared with a year earlier.
The television and radio broadcaster says the loss amounted to three cents per share for the quarter ended Feb. 28 compared with a loss of $55.9 million or 28 cents per share in the same quarter last year.
On an adjusted basis, Corus says it lost four cents per share in its latest quarter compared with an adjusted loss of 21 cents per share a year earlier.
Revenue totalled $230.2 million for what was the company's second quarter, down from $270.4 million.
Television revenue amounted to $212.4 million, down from $251.8 million a year earlier, while radio revenue totalled $17.7 million, down from $18.5 million.
Last month, Corus received an order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to proceed with its recapitalization plan. The transaction is still subject to, among other things, support agreements with key stakeholders and other customary and regulatory approvals.
