December cattle are trading a nickel higher and Nov feeders are down by 40 cents so far. But they are each counter to the rest of the contracts, as the other nearby fats are 52 to 75 cents red and the other nearby feeders are up 2 to 37 cents for a mixed midday. USDA mentioned the week’s bulk price was mostly $150 in the South and $153 in the North. The CME Feeder Cattle Index was $175.46 on 11/10, down by another 5 cents.   Â
Wholesale Boxed Beef prices from the AM report were $1.04 lower in Choice and $1.44 weaker in Select, for a $24.07 spread. USDA estimated last week’s FI cattle slaughter at 671k head through Saturday. That set the yearly total as 29.378m head – a 1.6% increase from the same week last year. Â
