MetroGas SA was formed on November 24, 1992 under the laws of Argentina. The Company, along with its subsidiary, is engaged in the distribution of natural gas. It has approximately 2.3 million customers in its service area, which consists of Buenos Aires and southern and eastern greater metropolitan Buenos Aires. Its distribution system consists of approximately 16,733 km of distribution mains. It purchases natural gas from producers in southern and western Argentina and is transported through Argentina's two trunk pipeline systems, one of which is operated by TGS and the other by TGN. It serves residential customers, power plants, industrial & commercial users & government entities. The Company provides service to approximately 2.2 million residential customers within its service area. The Company is subject to a number of laws and regulations related to health and safety and environmental protection.
